DAY 01: LIMA

Arrival in Lima, welcome and transfer accompanied by our representative to your hotel.

Overnight stay in Lima.

Dive into the vibrant flavors of Lima with an unforgettable culinary journey through Surquillo. Accompanied by a local food specialist, wander through a bustling market filled with colors, aromas, and traditions, while tasting an array of exotic fruits native to Peru.

Continue with a refined specialty coffee experience and indulge in artisanal ice cream featuring unique local flavors.

Your experience culminates with a delightful lunch at Cumpa Taberna Criolla, where you will savor the rich and authentic tastes of northern Peruvian cuisine in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

This afternoon, you will delve straight into the rich history and vibrant culture of Peru’s capital city. Our first stop is the iconic Plaza de Armas, the historic heart of Lima. Admire the elegant colonial architecture and visit the majestic Cathedral of Lima, a masterpiece blending Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance styles. Next, explore the Convent of Santo Domingo, a serene oasis of history and faith. Wander through its cloisters, marvel at its collection of religious art, and climb its bell tower for a panoramic view of the city.

Arrival in the city of Puerto Maldonado, where you will receive assistance and all the necessary information for your stay. Afterwards, transfer to the lodge. Along the way, you will enjoy beautiful scenery while your guide keeps an eye out for wildlife hidden within the rainforest, pointing out any species spotted during the journey.

Upon arrival, accommodation at the lodge and free time to enjoy the wide variety of excursions offered at Reserva Amazonica. For your first day, we recommend exploring the rainforest on a guided walk through the trail system within the natural reserve of Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica, where you will discover the incredible biodiversity of the Amazon Basin.

In the evening, we suggest joining the “River at Night” excursion. While navigating along the Madre de Dios River, you will witness the fascinating transition from day to night, as birds and other daytime creatures give way to species specially adapted to the darkness.

After dinner, you may also attend an informative talk about the experience of living in the rainforest.

In the morning, we will travel to Sandoval Lake, a true paradise where a great variety of bird species and monkeys coexist in their natural habitat. While exploring the lake, we may observe giant river otters, caimans, piranhas, and the impressive giant paiche fish.

After lunch, we recommend visiting the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway. We will hike through the rainforest to reach a network of suspension bridges connecting eight observation platforms high above the forest floor, offering spectacular views of the Amazon ecosystem. The excursion can be extended to enjoy the sunset from one of the towers.

After descending from the canopy, we will continue with the “Anaconda Walk,” a fascinating journey along 200 meters of wooden walkways built over the Aguajales swamps. Within this lush ecosystem, it is possible to observe a wide variety of amphibians, birds, mammals, and exotic rainforest flora. With some luck, we may also spot snakes inhabiting these wetlands.

In the evening, we will attend a presentation about nature at the Eco Center.

Enjoy a full breakfast before departure. A scenic 45-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River will take us back to Puerto Maldonado, where we may visit the Butterfly House. Peru is home to the greatest variety of butterflies in the world, with more than 3,700 known species, many of which can be admired in this fascinating sanctuary dedicated to showcasing their beauty, diversity, and adaptability.

At the coordinated time, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Upon arrival, meet your Cusco guide and enjoy a private 1,5-hour transfer to your Sacred Valley hotel.

Today, we will explore some of the most remarkable sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be the charming town of Chinchero, considered one of the most traditional and picturesque villages in the valley. Here, we will visit its impressive Inca archaeological complex and beautiful colonial church, built upon ancient Inca foundations. Chinchero is also renowned for its skilled women weavers, who preserve ancestral Inca techniques for spinning, dyeing, and weaving alpaca wool using natural pigments.

We will then continue to Moray, a fascinating Inca archaeological site composed of enormous concentric terraces resembling a natural amphitheater. During Inca times, this unique complex functioned as an agricultural laboratory where different microclimates were recreated to experiment with crops.

Our journey will continue to the community of Maras, famous for its spectacular salt mines. The stunning landscape created by more than 3,000 salt pools cascading down the mountainside offers a breathtaking contrast against the majesty of the Sacred Valley.

For lunch, we will enjoy a unique culinary experience at Wayra Ranch, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Surrounded by beautiful Andean landscapes, this charming place combines traditional Peruvian gastronomy with the elegance and warmth of a countryside hacienda.

During lunch, we will savor a selection of local flavors prepared with fresh regional ingredients while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the ranch. The experience is complemented by an impressive exhibition of Peruvian Paso horses, showcasing the grace, elegance, and cultural heritage of one of Peru’s most iconic traditions.

Finally, we will visit the extraordinary archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, one of the most important Inca living towns and a key military, religious, and agricultural center. We will explore highlights such as the Temple of the Ten Windows, the Baths of the Ñusta, and the majestic Temple of the Sun, among other remarkable structures. The unforgettable panoramic views from the heights of Ollantaytambo will provide the perfect ending to this magical day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Early in the morning transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station to take your BELMOND HIRAM BINGHAM train to the town of Machu Picchu.

A train trip away to see one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. We arrive at the Aguas Calientes station where our staff will assist us on boarding the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid spectacular views of the Urubamba River and its canyon.

 The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around

At the arranged time, we will return to Cusco by the Hiram Bingham Train.

In the evening, board the luxurious Hiram Bingham train for a memorable return journey from Machu Picchu to Poroy. As the train departs from the cloud forest and follows the winding course of the Urubamba River through the Sacred Valley, guests can relax and enjoy one last glimpse of the spectacular Andean scenery in an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

Onboard, a gourmet dinner will be served in the beautifully decorated dining cars, accompanied by selected wines and signature cocktails. Live music and traditional performances create a festive and sophisticated ambiance, inviting guests to celebrate the unforgettable experience of visiting Machu Picchu.

Departure by private transportarion to Puno along one of the most scenic routes in the Peruvian Andes. Throughout the journey, we will stop to visit some of the most remarkable attractions found along this beautiful corridor between Cusco and Puno.

Our first stop will be Andahuaylillas, home to its stunning colonial chapel, often referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas” due to its extraordinary interior decoration and artwork. We will then continue to Raqchi, an impressive Inca archaeological complex dedicated to the god Wiracocha, where its massive walls, temples, and ancient storehouses reveal the importance of this ceremonial center.

Along the route, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before reaching La Raya, the natural boundary between Cusco and Puno and the highest point of the journey, offering spectacular views of the Andean landscape.

Before arriving in Puno, we will visit the Pucará Museum, where we will learn about one of the oldest civilizations of the highlands and have the opportunity to admire — and perhaps purchase — the famous bull-shaped ceramics that have become a symbol of the region.

Arrival in Puno in the late afternoon, where a representative from Titilaka Lodge will welcome us and transfer us to the lodge, beautifully located on a private peninsula on the shores of Lake Titicaca. After check-in, there will be time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, breathtaking lake views, and elegant facilities of the lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the wonders of Lake Titicaca through one of Titilaka’s exclusive excursions. Depending on preferences and weather conditions, guests may visit the famous Uros floating islands, Taquile Island, or remote communities where ancestral traditions remain alive. Activities such as kayaking, hiking, or boating across the highest navigable lake in the world may also be arranged.

Throughout the experience, guests will discover the unique culture, landscapes, and traditions of the Andean communities living along the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Return to the lodge in the afternoon with time to relax and admire the spectacular sunset over the lake.

Transport from Puno with a wonderful view of Lake Titikaka along the route until Copacabana (3 ½ hours), a pleasant town in the shores of Lake. Visit to its church and the famous “Virgen Morena”. Trip by boat crossing the Lake to the Island of the Sun (1 hour) until Huacani to have an Aptapi (typical lunch in the highlands), then continue by boat to Yumani for visiting the stairs with the Water of the Eternal Youth, this trip continues by boat up till to the ruins of Pilkokaina Inca temple, then, boat back to Copacabana (1 hour) and private transportation to La Paz (3 ½ hours) with very nice views of the Andes Royal Range.

Breakfast ..Pick-up from hotel and transfer to the airport. Morning flight La Paz/Uyuni.

Upon arrival, contact at the airport and transfer to the Salt Flat.

Departure from Uyuni to the great salt flats; visit on the way, the Train Cemetery just 8 minutes from Uyuni town,  where the remains of 19th and 20th century steam locomotives are. Afterward, we will continue our trip to Colchani.  as this is the best place to observe the methods of salt extraction; next to Incahuasi Island (known as Fish Island), this is an oasis with a unique and isolated ecosystem that is populated by giant cactus up to 10 meters high. Continue north to visit Coquesa and the nearby chullpares on the foothills of Thunupa volcano. Finally, at appropriate time go back to Uyuni village.

Breakfast …Transfer to the airport to take your flight back to La Paz.

In the afternoon, A 4 hours city tour through La Paz, elected as one of the 7 wonder cities in the world. It is located in a valley at the foothills of the Andes Range, situated at 3,632m / 11942 ft. above sea level. The tour goes through the street markets rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft items, followed by a visit to the colonial section of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square also visit to the viewpoint “Mirador de Killi Killi”; and the outdoor replica of Tiwanaku temple. Then descending to the more modern, southern part of La Paz to reach and visit the Valley of the Moon, where a clay mountain has been impressively shaped by erosion. Ride by cable car “Teleférico”, it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz. This is a must for every one!
