Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Podgorica → Kotor
Arrive at Podgorica Airport and pick up the self-drive car. Drive to Kotor. En route, visit Lovćen National Park, where you can enjoy the cable car and Alpine Coaster.
Vehicle: Dacia Duster Automatic or similar, air-conditioned
Day 2 –Kotor
Enjoy a day trip to Ostrog Monastery, Durmitor National Park and Tara Bridge.
Overnight: Kotor
Day 3 –Kotor
Free day to explore Kotor. You may book local tours to Blue Cave, Boka Bay, Perast, etc., according to your preference.
Overnight: Kotor
Day 4 – Kotor
Explore Budva Old Town on your own and enjoy the town’s scenic beauty.
Overnight: Kotor
Day 5 – Kotor → Theth
Drive from Kotor to Theth and enjoy the lush green forests and beautiful landscapes of this region.
Overnight: Theth
Day 6 –Theth → Vlora
Drive to Vlora via Durrës and Apollonia. Apollonia is one of Albania’s most famous archaeological sites, showcasing a rich blend of Greek, Illyrian and Roman history along the Adriatic coast.
Overnight: Vlora
Day 7 – Vlora → Gjipe (Himare)
Drive from Vlora to Gjipe. The journey takes you from the mountainous region to the coastal part of Albania and takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. In the afternoon, visit Gjipe Canyon.
Overnight: Gjipe / Himare
Day 8 – Gjipe → Gjirokaster
Drive to Gjirokaster. En route, visit Butrint and Blue Eye.
Overnight: Gjirokaster
Day 9 – Gjirokaster → Berat
Explore Gjirokaster, known as the “City of Stone.” Visit its impressive 12th-century castle, offering panoramic valley views, along with the military museum and former prison. Continue to Ardenice Monastery, Church of Saint Mary and Chapel of Holy Trinity.
Later, proceed to Berat, the “City of a Thousand Windows.” Visit Berat Castle, Mangalem and Gorica Quarters, connected by the ancient Gorica Bridge.
Overnight: Berat
Day 10 – Berat → Tirana
Explore Berat in the morning and then drive to Tirana (approximately 2.5 hours). Enjoy the city and its attractions.
Overnight: Tirana
Day 11 – Tirana
Today, visit Kruja, known for its castle and museum, followed by Shkodra Lake and Lezhë..
Overnight: Tirana
Day 12 – Departure from Tirana
Drop off the rental car at Tirana Airport and proceed for your onward flight.
