
10N 11D Guwahati - Kaziranga-Dirang -Tawang -Shillong
Itinerary
1st Day : Guwahati Airport / Rly Station to Kaziranga - Transfer
Approx Distance: 220 Km • Est. Travel Time: 5 hrs
On arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station meet by our driver & transfer to Kaziranga National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”, Check in at your hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
2nd Day : Kaziranga - National Park Safari
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. Return to the resort for breakfast. Mid morning at leisure. In the afternoon enjoy jeep safari through the National Park later visit Kziranga Orchid Park. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

If time permitting, you may visit Kaipholangso Waterfall (also known as Kakochang Waterfall), located approximately 40 km away — about 1.5 hours’ drive each way. The visit can be arranged on an additional payment basis.
+ (Contd. 2nd Day) : Elephant Safari – Kaziranga National Park (Western – Bagori Range) – Elephant Ride – Indian
The elephant safari in Kaziranga National Park, available exclusively in the morning, offers a unique and intimate wildlife experience. This hour-long journey begins at two points: Bagori in the Western Range and Mihimukh in the Central Range. The Western Safari Zone, particularly Bagori, is the most preferred for elephant safaris, as its landscape allows for incredibly close encounters with the park’s famed one-horned rhinoceroses. Riding atop a majestic elephant through tall grasses, you can also spot other wildlife like tigers, deer, and a variety of birds. This safari offers a perfect vantage point to explore the diverse ecosystem and stunning landscapes of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
+ (Contd. 2nd Day) : Jeep Safari – Kaziranga National Park (Central/Kohra Range) – Safari – Indian
The entry gate to the Central Range of Kaziranga National Park is situated in the Mihimukh area of Kohora. This range is Positioned between the Western and Eastern Ranges. A two-hour Jeep safari will offer you the spectacular views of the park’s wildlife. You may see one-horned rhinos grazing or wallowing in the expansive grasslands, herds of elephants, and various other species of flora and fauna. The Central/Kohora Range, is particularly renowned for its tiger sightings, making this safari an exceptional experience for wildlife enthusiasts. For the Jeep Safari, entry is permitted between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. This schedule provides flexibility, allowing guests to begin their safari at any time within these designated hours. The duration of the safari is approximately two hours.
3rd Day : Kaziranga to Dirang - Transfer
Approx Distance: 250 Km • Est. Travel Time: 6 hrs 30 mins
Early morning explores any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on Jeep. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. After that return to the resort for breakfast. After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Dirang. On the way visit Tipi Orchidarium situated on the banks of the river Bharali, a place over 500 orchids, on display there are some rare species of orchid. Arunachal has largest range of orchids in the country then take a break to visit Nag Temple. Continue your drive and do not forget to keep your cameras handy as you cross beautiful waterfalls and get some spectacular views, visit Apple orchard & Kiwi Farm (depending upon season). On arrival check in to Hotel. Overnight stay at Dirang.

+ (Contd. 3rd Day) : Inner Line Permit (ILP) – Arunachal Pradesh – Permit Pass
It is issued by the Secretary (Political) of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. It is required for accessing the state through any check gates along the interstate borders with Assam or Nagaland. This permit is essential for all travelers entering Arunachal Pradesh.
4th Day : Dirang to Tawang - Transfer and on the way Sightseeing
Approx Distance: 130 Km • Est. Travel Time: 7 hrs
After early breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Tawang the Land of Hidden Paradise. On the way enjoy the beauty of Sela Pass (13700 Ft) a border line between two districts i.e Tawang & West Kameng Tawang, Sela Lake a small lake, which remains frozen for most of the year. Further drive to 10 kms visit Jaswant Garh War Memorial – a memorial to the brave soldier who single handily tried to hold of approaching Chinese from the pass during the 1962 Indo-China war. Later visit majesty of Nuranng Falls where scenes from the SRK-Madhuri Dixit starrer “Koyla” were shot. Arrive & check in to the hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Tawang.
5th Day : Tawang to Madhuri Lake and Bumla Pass - Excursion
Approx Distance: 55 Km • Est. Travel Time: 3 hrs
Today morning after early breakfast, you will drive to visit high altitude lake called as Shonga-tser Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake located 35, kms away from Tawang near the China Border. The drive to Sangestser Lake is full of thrill and one can still see the war bankers that had been used during the Chinese aggression in 1962. Nestled amidst the pristine mountains and picturesque surrounding, It was formed in the aftermath of the 1950 earthquake. Prior to the earthquake, this piece of land used to be employed as the grazing ground for the cattle. The evidence of it can be seen in the protruding trunks of the dead trees from the middle of the lake. The lake has been under supervision of Army men, who have also arranged for a cafeteria nearby. Tourists can relish on the delicious Momos, Maggis topped with a cup of tasty coffee or tea. Tourists can also take to trekking around the lake while enjoying the gentle lashes of the pleasant breeze around. You can drive further to Bumla Pass which is located about 37 km away from Tawang at the Indo-China border over 15,200 ft above sea level. During return take a photo stop at the beautiful PTSO lake enroute (17 kms away from Tawang, Pangong Tang Tso Lake popularly known as PT Tso which is an extremely scenic drive with bird’s eye view of the township below). Later in the afternoon drive back to hotel. Rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Tawang.
+ (Contd. 5th Day) : Bumla Pass & Madhuri Lake Excursion – Sightseeing – Only Indian
This excursion offers an adventurous drive to the high-altitude Shonga-tser Lake, also known as Madhuri Lake, located 35 km from Tawang near the China border. The journey is filled with historical significance, as you’ll pass war bunkers from the 1962 Chinese aggression. Formed after the 1950 earthquake, the lake lies amidst pristine mountains, with remnants of its past as a cattle grazing ground evident in the tree trunks emerging from the water. Managed by the Army, the site features a cafeteria where visitors can enjoy Momos, Maggi, and hot beverages. You can also trek around the lake, soaking in the serene atmosphere. Continue to Bumla Pass, 37 km from Tawang at 15,200 ft, and stop at the picturesque PTSO Lake on your return journey.
6th Day : Tawang to Dirang - Transfer and On the way Sightseeing
Approx Distance: 130 Km • Est. Travel Time: 7 hrs
After early breakfast check out from hotel and visit Tawang Monastery. Later drive to Dirang. Visit Sangti Valley, situated along the shores of Sangti river. The Sangti Valley is one of the seasonal homes of the majestic creature called the black-necked crane that flies across from China and perhaps Leh. On arrival check in at hotel. Dirang is also famous for hot water springs where people take bath to cure skin ailments. Overnight stay at Dirang.
7th Day : Dirang to Guwahati - Transfer
Approx Distance: 315 Km • Est. Travel Time: 8 hrs 30 mins
After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Guwahati. On the way visit Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa), Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa). On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay at Guwahati.

8th Day : Guwahati to Shillong - Sightseeing and Transfer
Approx Distance: 100 Km • Est. Travel Time: 3 hrs
After breakfast check out from hotel and visit Kamakhya Temple (Notes: Timing 08:00 A.M till 01:00 P.M & 3:00 P.M till its gets dark). After that transfer to Shillong (4,900 ft.), called ‘Scotland of the East”. Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, on arrival check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.
9th Day : Shillong to Mawlynnong and Dawki - Excursion
Approx Distance: 120 Km • Est. Travel Time: 4 hrs
After early breakfast drive to Mawlynnong – “Asia’s Cleanest Village”. Mawlynnong offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another small rock. Later proceed to Dawki, a small town near India Bangladesh border. Enjoy breathtaking view of the Umangot River. Evening drive back to Shillong. Stay overnight at your hotel in Shillong.
10th Day: Shillong to Cherrapunjee - Excursion
Approx Distance: 60 Km • Est. Travel Time: 2 hrs
After an early breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), renowned as one of the wettest places on earth. En route, stop to admire the cascading Elephanta Falls, soak in the breathtaking vistas from Mawdok–Dympep Valley Viewpoint, and explore the unique Garden of Caves. On arrival, witness some of Cherrapunjee’s most spectacular natural wonders including the majestic Nohkalikai Falls (the tallest plunge waterfall in India), the enchanting Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls), and the fascinating limestone formations inside the Mawsmai Caves. In the evening, drive back to Shillong for an overnight stay at Shillong.
11th Day : Shillong to Guwahati Airport / Rly Station - Transfer
Approx Distance: 100 Km • Est. Travel Time: 3 hrs
After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
