Itinerary
1st Day : Guwahati Airport / Rly Station to Cherrapunjee - Transfer
Approx Distance: 165 Km • Est. Travel Time: 5 hrs On arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station & transfer to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee. Note: Sohra (Cherrapunjee) & Dawki are rich by their own unique beauty & full of natural elegance. The places are paradise of nature lovers, explorers & travel enthusiastic. But these destinations are equipped with very limited options, facilities & basic amenities. Even best hotels are equivalent to basic 3*. That too without Fan (at few places), AC & Lift. Standard Accommodations over there are available; just with clean rooms, hygienic bathroom & basic non vegetarian food (very limited options are there for vegetarian guests).
2nd Day : Cherrapunjee - Local Sightseeing
Get up early to enjoy the mesmerizing mornings of Cherrapunjee. After early breakfast proceed for a full day trekking to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge (Closed on Sunday) at Nongriat Village. Need to trek approx. 3200 steps each way to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge (Closed on Sunday). We can further trek down to the Rainbow Falls which take about 60 to 90 minutes from the Double Decker Living Root Bridge (Closed on Sunday).
3rd Day : Cherrapunjee - Local Sightseeing
Get up early to enjoy the mesmerizing mornings of Cherrapunjee. Visit Garden of caves, Nohkalikai Falls, wahkaba falls, Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls), Mawsmai Cave, Arawah Cave, Thangkharang Park. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee. Note:- Sightseeing as per time permits.
4th Day : Cherrapunjee to Shillong -Transfer via Mawlynong and Dawki
Approx Distance: 270 Km • Est. Travel Time: 9 hrs After early breakfast check out and drive to Mawlynnong Cleanest Village. Mawlynnong offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another small rock. Later proceed to Dawki, a small town near India Bangladesh border. Enjoy breathtaking view of the Umangot River. Afternoon transfer to Shillong. On arival check in at hotel and overnight stay at Shillong.
5th Day : Shillong to Mawsynram -Mawphlang Sacred Forest - Excursion
Approx Distance: 60 Km • Est. Travel Time: 1 hr 30 mins After breakfast visit Mawsynram, which as per the new geological reports, receives the highest rainfall in the world. The area is known for its caves. Later visit Mawphlang Sacred Grove. It is one of the biggest Sacred Groves in Meghalaya. It is a well preserved forest by local community. Nothing can be taken out from the forest as this is being protected by the local deities. Visit Khasi model village. In the evening return to Shillong. Visit Elephanta Falls. Overnight stay at Shillong.
6th Day : Shillong to Laitlum Canyons - Krang Suri Falls - Excursion
Approx Distance: 115 Km • Est. Travel Time: 4 hrs After breakfast proceed to Laitlum Canyons for some breathtaking views. Then visit Krang Suri Falls. It is one of the best waterfalls in Meghalaya. You can also swim in a naturally formed pool here. You can also go behind the waterfall and see the water falling in front of you. After Lunch (Own cost) return back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.
7th Day : Shillong to Kaziranga - Sightseeing and Transfer
Approx Distance: 295 Km • Est. Travel Time: 7 hrs
After breakfast check out from hotel and visit Don Bosco Museum (Sunday Closed), Botanical Garden & Ward’s Lake. Later transfer to Kaziranga National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”. On arrival Check in at your hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
8th Day : Kaziranga to Guwahati - Safari and Transfer
Approx Distance: 220 Km • Est. Travel Time: 5 hrs Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. After that enjoy jeep safari through the National Park. Return to the resort for breakfast. After breakfast check out from hotel & proceed for Guwahati, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Guwahati. Important note: Elephant rides are all regulated and controlled by the forest Dept. Govt. of Assam. We do not have any control on the booking. Elephant rides & Jeep safari are subject to availability only.
+ (Contd. 8th Day) : Elephant Safari – Kaziranga National Park (Western – Bagori Range) – Elephant Ride – Indian
The elephant safari in Kaziranga National Park, available exclusively in the morning, offers a unique and intimate wildlife experience. This hour-long journey begins at two points: Bagori in the Western Range and Mihimukh in the Central Range. The Western Safari Zone, particularly Bagori, is the most preferred for elephant safaris, as its landscape allows for incredibly close encounters with the park’s famed one-horned rhinoceroses. Riding atop a majestic elephant through tall grasses, you can also spot other wildlife like tigers, deer, and a variety of birds. This safari offers a perfect vantage point to explore the diverse ecosystem and stunning landscapes of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
+ (Contd. 8th Day) : Jeep Safari – Kaziranga National Park (Estern/Agoritola Range) – Safari – Indian
The entry gate to the Eastern Range of Kaziranga National Park is located at Agaratoli, situated on the National Highway. The safari begins at the Agaratoli Tourism Office, where only Jeep safaris are organized for a two-hour tour. This range, similar to the Western Range, features wilder and bumpier trails. Despite the rough rides, bird enthusiasts favor Agaratoli for its rich avian diversity. Here, you can spot a variety of birds, including bar-headed geese, black-necked storks, spot-billed ducks, and pelicans. The rugged terrain and abundant birdlife make this safari a rewarding experience for both wildlife lovers and birdwatchers. For the Jeep Safari, entry is permitted between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. This schedule provides flexibility, allowing guests to begin their safari at any time within these designated hours. The duration of the safari is approximately two hours.
9th Day : Guwahati Hotel to Guwahati Airport / Rly Station - Sightseeing and Transfer
After breakfast check out from hotel, proceed to visit Kamakhya Temple (Notes -Timing 08:00 A.M till 01:00 P.M & 3:00 P.M till its gets dark). Later drop at Guwahati Airport / Rly Station for onwards Journey. Note:- Temple visit Depends on your Departure Flight timing.
