Itinerary
Day 01: Amritsar – Dharamshala
- Arrive in Amritsar and transfer to Dharamshala.
- En route, visit the Cricket Stadium and Norbulingka Monastery.
- Check-in at the hotel, relax, and overnight stay at the hotel in Dharamshala.
Day 02: Dharamshala Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed for a local sightseeing tour of Dharamshala, including:
- St. John in the Wilderness Church: A Gothic church dating back to 1852, located 1.5 km west of McLeod Ganj, surrounded by tall cedars. The cemetery holds graves of earthquake victims and the Earl of Elgin, the second Viceroy of India.
- Bhagsunath Temple: Set at 1770m above sea level, surrounded by beautiful pools and greenery; attracts many devotees and tourists.
- Tibetan Museum: The official museum of the Central Tibetan Administration, located near the Dalai Lama’s main temple, showcasing Tibetan history, culture, and exile journey with over 30,000 photographs and exhibitions.
- Bhagsu Falls: A scenic waterfall 2 km from McLeod Ganj, surrounded by lush greenery, ideal for trekking and relaxation. Nearby cafes offer refreshments.
- Dal Lake: A small, serene lake surrounded by deodar trees with a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva nearby. Located 3 km from McLeod Ganj.
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Dharamshala.
Day 03: Dharamshala – Kangra – Dharamshala
- After breakfast, drive to visit:
- Norbulingka Monastery
- Kangra Museum
- Kangra Fort
- Drive to Masrur Rockcut Temple
- Norbulingka Monastery
- Return to Dharamshala for overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Dharamshala – Dalhousie
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Dalhousie.
- On arrival, check into the hotel.
- Evening free for strolling around the local market.
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Dalhousie.
Day 05: Dalhousie – Khajjiar – Dalhousie
- After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing in Khajjiar, known as “Mini Switzerland” for its green meadows surrounded by pine and cedar forests.
- Return to Dalhousie and visit:
- Sat Dhara
- Panji Pulla
- Subhash Baoli
- Sat Dhara
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Dalhousie.
Day 06: Dalhousie – Amritsar
- After breakfast, transfer to Amritsar.
- Visit major attractions including:
- Partition Museum (closed on Tuesdays and Sundays)
- Golden Temple
- Wagah Border (Bhagha Border)
- Jallianwala Bagh — a memorial to the massacre of peaceful celebrators on April 13, 1919.
- Partition Museum (closed on Tuesdays and Sundays)
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Amritsar.
Day 07: Amritsar – Departure
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
- Transfer to Amritsar airport to catch your flight back home.
