Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival – Srinagar
- Arrival in Srinagar.
- Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to Mogul Garden “Nishat” and “Shalimar”
- On return visit a local Handicrafts Emporium for hand-knotted specialty Silken carpets, shawls, jewellery ornaments.
- On the second half day, visit Shankeracherya Temple and visit Pari mahal.
- Enjoy a peaceful Shikara ride on Dal Lake, the “Venice of India.”
- Experience aquatic life and vibrant floating gardens.
- Take in the scenic beauty and colors of Kashmir, the “Paradise on Earth.”
- On the way back, visit the local crafts market.
- See hand-carved items made from Paper Mâché and walnut wood.
- Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Srinagar to Kargil (220 kms/6-7 hrs approx one way)
- After breakfast, drive to Kargil via the Srinagar-Leh Highway.
- Stop at Sonmarg – the Gateway to Ladakh and Meadow of Gold.
- Optional pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier.
- Witness the changing mountain colors en route.
- Cross the scenic Zoji La Pass and Drass region.
- Visit the Zoji La War Memorial and Kargil War Memorial to honor the Indian Army.
- Capture views of Tololing, Tiger Hill, and the Drass War Memorial.
- Overnight stay in Kargil.
Day 03: Kargil to Uleytokpo
- After early breakfast, drive to Uleytokpo.
- En route, visit Mulbek, known for its huge Buddha statue.
- Explore Lamayuru Monastery – the oldest monastery in Ladakh.
- Overnight stay in Uleytokpo.
Day 04: Uley to Leh
- After breakfast, depart for Leh.
- En route, witness the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers.
- Experience the unique phenomenon at Magnetic Hill.
- Visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and Kali Mata Temple.
- Upon arrival in Leh, explore Shanti Stupa and Leh Market in the evening.
- Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 05: Leh Excursion to Monasteries ( 50 Kms / 02 Hrs -One Way )
- Post breakfast, proceed for Indus Valley Monastery tour:
Visit Hemis Gompa – the largest monastery of the Drukpa Kagyu Order.
Explore Thiksey Monastery, a stunning hilltop complex.
Visit Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh.
Stop at the famous 3 Idiots Rancho School.
Enjoy the scenic beauty of Sindhu Ghat. - Return to Leh in the evening.
- Visit Shanti Stupa and stroll through Leh Market.
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
Day 06: Day for Rafting
- After breakfast, enjoy an exciting rafting experience.
- Return to Leh and explore the city at your own pace.
- Overnight stay in Leh
Day 07: Leh to Nubra Valley (125 kms/5-6 hrs approx one way)
- After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley – known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh.
- Travel via Khardungla Pass (18,390 ft) – the highest motorable road in the world.
- En route, enjoy breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain ranges.
- Spend some time at Khardungla Top before continuing to Nubra.
- Check in to your hotel upon arrival.
- In the evening, enjoy a Camel Safari on the Hunder Sand Dunes.
- Overnight stay in Nubra.
Day 08: Hunder to Turtuk to Hunder (80 kms/3-4 hrs approx one way)
- After breakfast, drive to Turtuk – opened to tourists in 2010.
- Turtuk was annexed by India after the 1971 war and is one of the only Balti villages in India, near the LOC.
- Explore the unique culture, stone-crafted utensils, and traditional lifestyle of the village.
- Enjoy scenic views of the Shyok Valley; on clear days, catch a glimpse of K2 peak across the border.
- Visit gompas on the plateau and the old royal house in the village.
- Return to Hunder by evening.
- Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
Day 09: Nubra to Pangong via Shyok (130 kms/5-6 hrs approx one way)
- Start the day driving towards Leh via the usual route until reaching Khalsar.
- From Agyam Bridge, take the left route to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk.
- Enjoy a peaceful drive on a less-traveled road with minimal traffic; some rough patches expected.
- After Shyok, the road improves but becomes steep.
- From Durbuk, turn left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route.
- Continue to Pangong Lake, a stunning natural brackish lake at 14,000 ft elevation.
Note: More than half of the lake lies in Chinese territory, with about one-third in India.
Explore the lake area and keep an eye out for rare wildlife.
Day 10: Pangong Lake to Tsomoriri (180 kms/7-8 hrs approx one way)
- Morning at leisure to explore the beauty of Pangong Lake.
- Drive east on a newly opened tourist route along the lake.
- Pass through villages: Man, Mirak, and Chushul (80 km from the Chinese border).
- Visit Chushul War Memorial of Maj. Shaitan Singh, a hero of the 1962 Sino-Indian war; site of annual flag meetings between Indian and Chinese armies.
- Continue driving to Tsaga and Loma Bend.
- At Mahe, take a left turn and proceed to Tsomoriri Lake.
Day 11: Tsomoriri – Leh (Via Tanglangla) (240 kms/7-8 hrs approx one way)
- Post breakfast, check out from the camp and drive towards Tsokar Lake.
- En route, visit the hot sulphur springs at Puga, known for their medicinal properties.
- Continue to Tsokar Lake and explore the area.
- Drive back to Leh, stopping at Tanglang La Pass (5,350 m) — the second highest motorable pass in the world.
- Return to Leh for the night.
Day 12: Departure from Leh
- After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport.
- Board your flight to your onward destination
